1. Who We Are. Secure Rights is a third party verification service dedicated to protecting consumers from fraud and the unauthorised use of their personal data. We work with other businesses displaying the Secure Rights logo such as the one from whose website you were transferred to get to this site. We provide a secure platform for these businesses to manage and oversee the collection and transfer of consumer information. Secure Rights verifies information submitted through its system by individual consumers seeking information on financial products and services from the businesses that provide them.
2. Information We Collect. When you inquire about financial products or services through a website or advertisement displaying the Secure Rights logo, you may be asked to enter personal and non-personal information. You may need to provide personal and financial information such as your name, phone number, e-mail address, income and other financial information. Secure Rights will never request or collect sensitive personal data including medical/health conditions; racial or ethnic origin; political, religious or philosophical beliefs or affiliations; trade union membership or sex life. We will not sell or share any personal information about you or with any other third party except as we have notified to you, authorised by you, to financial product and service providers who are participants in the Secure Rights system for the purpose of providing the product or service you are requesting, or as may be required by law.
You may also contact Secure Rights through the "Contact Us" feature. Participation in this area is completely voluntary and it is your choice whether or not you wish to disclose your personal information to us. In the "Contact Us" form, we may ask you for personally identifiable information such as your name, postal address, email address, etc. This information will not be sold to any person or organisation. However, your information may be shared with other parties relevant to your enquiry through Secure Rights to help resolve any issues you report to us. This is also the case if you file a complaint form through Secure Rights, as described below, to report possible fraud or misuse of your personal information.
3. How Your Information is Used. When you make an enquiry about a mortgage product through a website or advertisement displaying the Secure Rights logo by entering your personal information and clicking on the "Submit" button, you are authorising Secure Rights to share your enquiry and your personal information with other businesses who participate in the Secure Rights system. Your personal information may be checked against third party databases such as the insolvency database maintained by the Insolvency Service and the postcode and address database maintained by Royal Mail Group plc as well as businesses who provide financial products or services that match your enquiry. Your personal information submitted to us by you may be transferred confidentially to another company in our group in the USA for these purposes. We will ensure that appropriate and adequate security measures are in place to keep your personal data confidential and secure. Financial institutions who subscribe to our system compete for the opportunity to provide financial products and services that matched your enquiry. By submitting your information to us, you are also authorising these businesses to contact you directly by e-mail and telephone with information about the products or services they offer.
Secure Rights may release account and any other personal information when we believe release is appropriate to respond to a subpoena or otherwise comply with the law or protect the rights, property, or safety of Secure Rights or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the prevention or detection of fraud or crime.
Secure Rights employs industry standard security measures to ensure the security of all personal data you submit directly to us. Any data that is stored on Secure Rights servers is treated as proprietary and confidential and is not available to the public. Secure Rights routinely evaluates its data security practices to identify security threats or opportunities for improvement. However, no transmission of data over the Internet is guaranteed to be completely secure. It may be possible for third parties not under the control of Secure Rights to intercept or access transmissions or private communications unlawfully. While we strive to protect your personally identifiable information, Secure Rights cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information that you transmit to us.
In addition to our technical security measures, we (or an agent acting on our behalf) may attempt to contact you directly to confirm that you are the person whose contact information was submitted and that you are actually interested in seeking information on the financial products and services identified in your enquiry. By submitting your contact information to the Secure Rights website, you are authorising us to contact you, at our discretion, for this purpose. Before your information is submitted to our online marketplace and matched with a vendor, you may receive an e-mail or telephone call from a member of Secure Rights' staff (or our agent) to confirm your identity and interest in such a solicitation. If we discover that your information has been submitted to us fraudulently or in error, we will not forward your information to any third party and will retain your confidential information for identification purposes to prevent further abuse of your privacy. We will also take all enforcement action that we feel may be appropriate.
In addition, if you become aware, either from our contact with a Secure Rights staff member or otherwise, that your personal information has been submitted to Secure Rights or by a business affiliated with the Secure Rights network without your authorisation, you may complete and submit a complaint form at www.securerights.org which we will use to investigate and resolve your complaint. By completing and submitting the Secure Rights fraud complaint form, you are authorising Secure Rights to contact you further as needed for any additional information to investigate and resolve your complaint.
